Our Technology: The “Pico” Difference
Lasers remove tattoos by delivering high energy directly into the ink, breaking it into tiny particles that the body’s own immune system can then eliminate naturally. Inks of different types, colors, and depths can make removal especially challenging. Our Enlighten III laser delivers energy at picosecond intervals, a picosecond being one trillionth of a second and roughly one thousand times shorter than older tattoo removal lasers. Picosecond, or “pico,” lasers have been shown to remove tattoos more completely and with fewer treatments than older laser technology.
